AKRIS & GOETHE
Düsseldorf, October 8, 2019, Akris and the Goethe-Museum hosted a special talk by creative director Albert Kriemler and by museum curator Dr. Barbara Steigiesser on Goethe and fashion followed by an exclusive viewing of the new exhibition. What interested one of today’s defining fashion designers about Johann Wolfgang von Goethe color charts? "Their modernity," says Albert Kriemler, who has been at the helm of Akris for almost 40 years.

The exhibition shows Goethe inspired looks of the current Akris Fall / Winter 2019 collection designed by Albert Kriemler, that was presented during Paris Fashion Week in March. Included in the exhibition are the “Farbtafel looks” in Colorama, Kaleidoscope and Panoply inspired by three panels from Goethe’s “zur Farbenlehre”. For the first time, Goethe’s first editions from the years 1791/92 and 1810 will be presented together with current fashion – a bridge over the centuries.
